Hopscotch and Math
Our Tiny Dancer loves to play with sidewalk chalk. It is so easy to get her involved with a fun activity like hopscotch. There are so many fun learning games that you can do with sidewalk chalk. Hopscotch is one of our daughters favorites.
Once the hopscotch box pattern is drawn out, put a addition or subtraction problem in one box (11-9=) and in another box write the answer (2) and so on and so on. When our daughter hops from box to box, she is saying each problem and answer aloud. With this, her kinesthetic sensation of movement helps her to retain her math facts. This game has helped her with her math as well as spelling. You can also write down words (each box will have a letter).
The great thing about this tip is that my Tiny Dancer is learning without all of the hard work and frustration that she usually feels.
